Many of the students I meet performing with Breaking Boundaries ask me what they need to do if they want to be a professional dancer...
Here are my thoughts.
I believe that some individuals who are very hard working, may NOT need to finish college, and can still make something of themselves because of their innate nature to be hustlers.... be productive, and lucrative.
I do believe that these people are rare, but do exist....
and thus... my advice to most people is to not try to only be professional dancers...
But to Do well in school, middle and high school, go to college... and finish a degree.. Business is a great major, or marketing these tools you will need to self-promote yourself as a "Professional Dancer"
To be honest, it's very difficult to be lucrative as a dancer. From what I've seen and experienced, it may not totally be reliant on your skills as a dancer. More so, about who you know, and how well you hustle, and how well you promote yourself.
Also how well you believe in yourself and your drive/motivation.
Graduating with a degree from college is just a concept that is training for life, and show your ability to start and complete a task. In college you learn lessons in life necessary for you to survive and support your dance career...
More later..
